Arcade Sunshine

An exciting adaptive reuse project, Arcade Sunshine exhibits the conversion of the iconic Linen’s of the Week industrial plant into a vibrant multi-family development. While preserving key elements of the historical structure, the project added 240 new units of housing to the growing Washington, D.C. area. A phase-development which began in 2014, Arcade Sunshine consists of 3 buildings: 713 Lamont, 735 Lamont, and 785 Lamont that overall achieved exemplary performance on several credits including:
- Public transportation access – Exemplary Performance
- Maximized open space (rooftop garden) – Exemplary Performance
- Mitigated the heat island effect (green roof) – Exemplary Performance
- EV charging
- Low-emitting materials
Jordan & Skala Engineers provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, as well as sustainability consulting for the development, which in 2020 achieved its final of three total LEED-NC certifications!
