MEP Office Jordan & Skala in Washington, D.C. Celebrates 5 Years
When Jordan & Skala’s Northeast clients requested the firm have a local presence, it was only natural for the firm to be responsive and open an MEP office to better serve them. The move is indicative of the way the Atlanta, Georgia, headquartered, full-service engineering consulting firm does business-by listening, communicating, and adapting.
Today, Jordan & Skala celebrates the five-year anniversary of the Washington, D.C. office. Opened in the summer of 2007 near the U.S. National Whitewater Center with two people, today the MEP office is over a dozen people and growing. What has fueled this success throughout the worst economy in our lifetime? While Chris McDaniel, Director of the D.C. office jovially refers to it as the world famous “Southern Hospitality”, it is the commitment to adjust to client’s stringent schedules in order to get a project done, without any additional fee—that has proven to be the differentiator.
Providing comprehensive solutions for engineering services-electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, communication, and security services, is one more example of how Jordan & Skala is client focused. Multiple services under one roof means systems are better coordinated, team communication is efficient and the client has less headaches. Also valuable to clients is the D.C. office’s specialty, providing Energy Services-comprehensive energy assessments utilizing energy modeling and Green Building Services which includes LEED project administration. Initiated by the D.C. office, these comprehensive Energy Services serve clients nation-wide.
The Washington, D.C. MEP office serves architects, real-estate developers and building owners throughout the Northeast, and has active projects in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Ohio as well as the District of Columbia. Serving both private and public end-users, the office has designed engineering systems for the hospitality, multi-family and commercial markets, as well as for government projects.
As the office continues to grow, and Chris McDaniel recruits staff, he wants others at Jordan & Skala to know the firm truly offers opportunity for the motivated. He is a prime example. While hired as a staff engineer twelve years ago with a dozen years in the industry, he is now a Regional Director. In the same way working hard for clients results in additional and larger projects, working hard for the firm results in more challenging, and rewarding, career opportunities.
