LEED Platinum Project Sponsored by JSE at the Texas Society of Architects Convention
Jose Montoya, a member of Jordan & Skala’s Energy Service Division, presented a LEED Platinum project to record crowds at the 74th Annual Texas Society of Architects Annual Convention and Design Expo in Dallas recently.
As the project LEED Certification manager for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Police Headquarters conversion project, Jose explained, how an early 20th century trolley repair shop listed on the National Register was transformed into a three story, LEED Platinum project. Jordan & Skala sponsored the session.
The 8:15 AM Saturday morning presentation had an audience of more than 250 architects, planners, government agencies and consultants. Soon after the conference ended, the Chief Architect for the project gave kudos to the presentation and agreed with a seasoned colleague who said the presentation “…was the most professional, informative and organized presentation” he had attended at the convention. Yep, that’s how we do it at Jordan & Skala!
Other conference highlights include Andy Smith’s guerrilla-style networking moves- At Andy’s urging (Jose swears it was his idea), Andy and Jose planted themselves at the exit doors of the room hosting the main conference discussion. As the audience dispersed, Andy and Jose “just happened” to run into key Architects in the hallway and were able to chat about Jordan & Skala services. Hooyah!
