According to the May/June issues of Engineering Georgia, the business of engineering is improving. University Commons at the University of Tennessee

Jordan & Skala Engineers recently provided MEP engineering design for University Commons at the University of Tennessee. This 12-acre, mixed-use redevelopment project includes retail and dining space, a 49,000-SF Publix grocery store, a 120,000-SF Walmart, and a PetSmart. It, additionally, includes 169,000-SF of cold, dark shell retail, 42,000-SF of white-box retail, and a 295,000-SF structured parking deck located behind the stores. Donated MEP Design Services for Brookwood in Georgetown (BiG) Community

Recently, Jordan & Skala donated MEP design services for Brookwood in Georgetown’s (BiG) new community center building located in Georgetown, Texas. The Brookwood Community is an educational, residential, and entrepreneurial community for adults with functional disabilities. In the Summer of 2011, Erin Klitz began a pilot program where students became artisans and began making and selling handcrafting pottery, and later horticulture and baking. SkyHouse Austin Achieves ENERGY STAR Certification

Jordan & Skala Engineers is proud to announce that Novare Group’s SkyHouse Austin achieved ENERGY STAR certification on February 4th, 2015. Jordan & Skala provided MEP and Energy Services engineering design for the 23-story, luxury, mixed-use development. The 325,000-SF building features 320 units including a mix of studios, one, two, and three bedroom apartments. Sapphire Falls Resort, a Loews Hotel – Orlando, FL

Jordan & Skala Engineers is currently providing MEP, Communications, and Security engineering design for the new Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. This full-service Caribbean-themed hotel will feature 1,000 rooms (including 77 suites) constructed around a lush, tropical lagoon and towering waterfall. EarthCraft Communities Project of the Year Award for 2014

On October 29th, Jordan & Skala Engineers proudly accepted the 2014 EarthCraft Communities Project of the Year Award at the Celebration of Excellence. The $28.3M redevelopment of the former Allen Wilson Terrace Public Housing project in Decatur, Georgia was selected for its quality, innovative design, and showcase of sustainability. Studio Movie Grill to Open Two Theaters in Dallas

Studio Movie Grill is opening two theaters in Dallas-Fort Worth as part of a larger expansion plan, which includes new locations in Chatham, Ill., and Tyler, Texas, with more sites in the works. The new theaters will be located in Colleyville and The Colony. The Colleyville location will be 51,035 square feet with eight screens and more than 1,000 seats.
