LabCorp at Medical City Hospital provides medical laboratory tests through clinical laboratories. The lab has expertise in esoteric testing, genomics, and clinical and anatomic pathology. JSE surveyed a total of 64,000-SF on three levels to identify existing MEP systems and understand the electrical and heat loads of equipment in the spaces. The spaces included existing core & shell to be build-to-suit for offices, conference rooms and orientation room, reworking/relocating of microbiology, chemistry and serology area, and minor reworking of lab technician and office areas. Medical design scope included medical gas for helium, propane, vacuum, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, compressed air and mixed gas (local and centralized). Acid waste piping and neutralization system was included to dilute acid/chemical waste. The project was implemented in phases and required detailed on-site coordination with the architect.
