Electrical design affects more than where power comes from. It influences safety, architecture, operations, equipment, lighting, and the systems every other discipline depends on.
Distribution, equipment loads, utility service, emergency power, and backup requirements have to be sized and coordinated around the actual building—not assumptions.
Fire alarm, emergency lighting, surge protection, lightning protection, and standby systems help protect occupants, equipment, and essential operations when normal conditions change.

Protect critical power distribution systems from outages or voltage spikes associated with utility service or lightning events through code-compliant surge suppression systems.
Coordinate EV charging infrastructure as a property amenity or where required by local governments and municipalities, with the electrical capacity and infrastructure needed to support the charging stations.
Design general interior lighting and coordinate specialty lighting requirements with third-party lighting consultants when needed. JSE also performs photometry to evaluate lighting levels and supports the coordination of emergency lighting and exit signage.
Plan functional, safety-focused lighting for parking areas and other exterior spaces while coordinating with landscape architects, specialty lighting designers, and local utility providers when required.
Coordinate lighting controls around life safety, applicable energy codes, and project requirements. JSE also provides guidance on energy-code considerations including IECC and ASHRAE requirements.
Develop performance-based fire alarm designs with code-compliant device layouts and locations, including initiating and notification devices such as smoke detectors, horns, strobes, and heat detectors. JSE also develops performance specifications for use by fire alarm subcontractors during shop drawing development.
Design performance-based lightning protection systems using Early Streamer Emission systems or traditional Franklin systems based on project requirements.
