About the Panel Discussion:
The commercial real estate and built environment continues to see explosive growth and development in the Mountain West and Colorado regions — these locations are certainly no longer considered a “secondary region.” As the communities within the City of Denver and the State of Colorado continue to show enthusiasm and drive in sustainability, code, incentives, and legislation are responding accordingly.
We, at Jordan & Skala Engineers, understand the importance of how advancing sustainable measures in major markets, such as Denver, will change the future of our buildings. We’re excited to have hosted a live panel discussion — “Colorado and Mountain West Update: Trends in Sustainability, Codes, and Requirements” — at the 2022 BUILT National ESG/Sustainability & Multi-Housing Summit hosted in Denver, Colorado.
In this discussion, panelists from different viewpoints within the AEC industry provide their unique perspective on how the evolution of building design and construction differs within the Mountain West region (as opposed to other geographies in the US), as well as where green building codes and ordinances are headed in the future for Colorado. Additionally, the speakers discuss how Developers are beginning to view ESG measures as a business model that has a positive impact on a building’s ROI, as well as how future-proofing our buildings by potentially exceeding code may save significant costs in the long term.
Jordan & Skala’s Principal, Regina Young, joined a panel of key leaders in sustainability within the Mountain West region, including Energetics’ Principal and Founder, Elizabeth Gillmor, Morgan Creek Ventures’ Managing Director of Real Estate, Blake Ottersberg, the City & County of Denver’s Net Zero Energy New Buildings & Homes Administrator, Courtney Anderson, as well as Coburn Partners’ Principal, Bill Holicky.
Thank you to all of those who joined the live discussion about the future of ESG and sustainability in the Mountain West region and A/E/C industry. Additionally, thank you to BUILT National for inviting Jordan & Skala Engineers to participate on this panel discussion.
