Triumph Hospital
Dallas, TX
Completion Date: 2010
Architect: Identity Architects
The Triumph Hospital in Dallas, Texas did not have a hyperbaric oxygen chamber when the hospital was first constructed. Jordan & Skala was hired to convert an existing break room area into a Hyperbaric Oxygen chamber room and determine how to best rework the oxygen storage system that serves the entire hospital.
The existing oxygen storage was located in the back corner of Triumph Hospital and was not of adequate capacity. Access to the Airgas supply tank was difficult due to a back alley drive that was not suitable for large 18-wheel trucks. The high-pressure liquid oxygen storage system was upgraded from a 950-gallon capacity to a 3,000-gallon capacity to reduce the number of tanker truck refills and to support one new and one future hyperbaric oxygen chamber. In addition, a nurse locker room on an upper-level floor was converted into a doctor’s lounge.
